last one

It is offical. I have just finished writing my last undergrad paper, ever. I still need to edit it, possibly do a few revisions and print it, but for the most part done!
The best part about writing this paper was the glass of rum & coke that I had. mmmmm

Now all that is left is one assignment and 5 exams.

8 days of class.

Bring it.

Okay, it's 2:15 in the morning and I have seminar at 8am. Oi!

wearing the pants

I am totally wearing my grumpy pants. Last night I was grumpy, today I am less grumpy but still grumpy.
I got 3 hours of sleep last night. But, my assignment is done.
But it was edited and I was able to print it this morning.

My midterm that I thought I failed. I passed and with the bell curve-it's not so bad.

I have one more paper due tomorrow. 1500-1800 words about politics and shakespeare. On Monday I have another quantiative analysis assignment due.
Then it will be exams.

9 days left.

NORMAN REEDUS DAY 2006

It is that time of year where we pay homeage to the ones who have made us strangely comfortable. The last two years we have celebrated the two McManus brothers who are in all ways imagineable-saucy, beyond belief.

We welcome back NORMAN REEDUS DAY 2006

what to blog...

I have been wondering what to blog about cause frankly, I've got nothing.
Today was an interesting day.
I had the most hostile towards Christianity lecture at Brock ever. People have made their comments before, but they are usually either funny or true. Today was just an angry prof ranting. It didn't even relate half the time. Even one of my friends who isn't a Christian was like, "he was pretty opiniated." But the stuff he said about his actual topic of public space being a problem or not was interesting and made me think. Though he could have saved me 40min and told me it in 10.

I handed in my 4500 word essay today. PRAISE THE LORD! (I've been saying that often-like for everything, even if it's not praise worthy).

I've been listening to Avril's song, Get Over It. I like it.

Hannie makes me SMILE. If there were blogging awards, she would win.

I have a presentation, two papers and an assignment to finish in the next two weeks. AND THEN THAT'S IT!! Well, exams-but PRAISE THE LORD I WILL BE DONE SCHOOL!!!!

(and apparently there will be a wedding sometime soon. not for me, but another family memeber....)

Go n-ithe an cat thú is go n-ithe an diabhal an cat*

So a bunch of things, here we go!

First:
Lá Fhéile Pádraig
(HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!)
Pionta Guinness, le do thoil.

Lesson of yesterday:
When you go to the library to study and research and find books you need. RUN DOWN TO THE CIRRCULATION DESK AND CHECK THEM OUT IMMEDIATELY. Then return back up to the 9th floor to resume study.

Yesterday morning after my 8am class, so this is now 9am. I go right away to the library and find 2 books for my paper that would be BRILLANT. One also happened to be recommended by my prof. I look them up, and they miraclously are in the library. There are no notes accompaning the books, and so up to the 9th floor I go to retrive them. I then spend the next 2.5 hours reading, studying and making notes. It's now 11:30am, and time for me to go home. I go to the cirrculation desk to take out those books among others for my paper due Wednesday. The librarian takes those two books and after scanning them puts them aside. Apparently someone had put a hold on them that very morning! They must have looked for them, couldn't find them and then put a hold on them.
What this means for me, is that I do not get to take out the books I want. It meant that I had to go and photocopy the parts that I want because all books are checked out for 2 weeks. And with this paper, we have a draconian late penatly of 5% a day. I can't wait 2 weeks. So spending almost $5 in photocopying when clearly I am the one who did all the work to get the books.

I am not impressed currently with the library.

Camp Oneida
I went to camp yesterday with Tracy and we had dinner with my grandma, that was a lot of fun.
I took some fun pics. But I am not going to post them because I am at school.

Google
So I check the tracker sometimes. Do you know that at leat once or twice a week, some googles my first and last name? As a result they often end up here at this blog. WHO ARE YOU? Seriously, I know that every once in a while I will google myself out of bordem, but I know that most of those times the googling is not due to me bordem. It just makes me wonder all who read this blog. Do I know you? Do you know of me? I have a lot of people at school tell me that they have heard a lot about me when they meet me. IT FREAKS ME OUT. But it's kind of neat at the same time. I guess I just think i am usually not worth talking about-you know, nothing special. And it just makes me wonder what they say about me.

Anyways, googlers of "Sanda Rimay", who are you and what do you want with me!?
My name isn't that common, so for people to actually google search me, just sort of freaks me out. I can understand googling sanda-it's more than just a name, but my first and last name-you would have to already know fo me to get that far. But seriously, today my full name was googled at like 9am this morning! And, someone googled "sanda will you be my"- be your what?
I just find it fascinating that people actually google search me. To me it seems so random.

What am I?

So I finally got some pictures from my mom of her mom's mom, so my great-grandmother.
I have shown it to some of my friends, and the most common reaction, is yeah...not so white.* So take a look, what do you think?

The first photo is my great-grandmother with two of her eight children. One is my Great Aunt Bubbles (not her real name, it was Majorie, but everyone called her bubbles from the time she was small) and my great uncle Jack, both whom are deceased now.
The other photo is a family portrait with my great-grandmother's family, so my great, great grandmother and father. The couple standing in the back at the right, are my great-grandparents. We know that my great-grandfather was from England and then sailed to Jamaica. They came to Canada sometime in the late 1800's. I have the chest they used to transport their goods! It is very pretty.

Anyways, right now your guess is as good as mine as to what my ethnic heritage is.

*Somewhere there was a breakdown in communication and no one knows entirely where some of my ancestors are from. Some say Jamaica, others say Spain and there are those who say Scotland. We like to go with the Jamaica one.

Field Trip

Here at our house we like to plan trips and events. Today's event and trip was to a local Maple Syrup Farm. Good times.
April's event is going to be a BYOB event (bring your own burger). It will be a BBQ and it will be a fundraiser for Claire's trip to Kazakhstan.

Anyways, here are some pics of our time today.

BIRTHDAY!

So I was suppose to be in class this morning. I was suppose to do school work this morning. I am suppose to be at work now. But here I am sitting at my computer.

I am exhausted but let me tell you-those birthday festivities! The good times did indeed roll.

I woke up and groggily stumbled into the bathroom to be greeted with a huge note stuck to the mirror. Then I turned around and saw a gigantic balloon in the bath tub.

I would show the note, but it has some incriminating best wishes, and so I do not wish to show it.

I then went with Patricia who spolied me with a new hair cut! And the hair dresser gave me some highlights for free!!

Then I went to Hamilton to have dinner with my mom, Nathan and some friends who were coming with me to see Great Big Sea! woot!We tried a Thai restaurant that is on the mountain. It was really good. It is called The Lemongrass and it was very yummy and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

Then off it was to the GREAT BIG SEA CONCERT! It was absolutely amazing good times! I sung my heart out, I would have jumped too, but we were on the edge of the balcony.
They did Sea of No Cares as they originally started to write it, as an acoustic non-pop song, and it was amazing and made me like it all the more! Lots of songs from the new album, the Hard and the Easy. SO WONDERFUL!!

24

So it's my last day being 24. It's sort of sad. I am not feeling to overwhelmed turning 25 or anything, but I also sort of feel that I am not where I should be in life, but at the same time am very thankful that I am not!
Tomorrow I am going to see Great Big Sea and am trying a Thai restuarant in Hamilton. Good times for sure.

My turn

I like to celebrate. Last night we had pancakes to celebrate and we invited a TON of people over for Pancake Tuesday. It was mmm, mmm, good. What most of these people did not realize was that the festivities last night were only preemptive to a whole week (or two) or celebrating goodness.

My dear friend Heather Ann, has taught me something wonderful and I figure since we already share intelligence, beauyl and sauciness we can share in the joy of birthday week. Today marks the beginning of my birthday week and will climax on my actual birthday with a Great Big Sea concert. I am tres excited.

Birthday week adventures hopefully will include:
-snowboarding
-alcohol
-Players
-the Fine Grind
-Port Dalhousie (Murphy's & the Olde Sweete Shoppe)
-a birthday kidnapping
and lots more!!
